For the past several weeks, I have been using ChatGPT in my daily product work to the point that it has become my go-to tool whenever I start a new task (yes, including writing this article; the header is a suggestion ChatGPT made, and it also proofread this article).

Let us begin by explaining ChatGPT (in his own words) — an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that uses natural language processing (NLP) to understand and respond to text-based queries. It is designed to communicate and interact with humans in a way similar to how we communicate with each other. ChatGPT is typically used to quickly analyze large amounts of data and provide insights or responses to questions or tasks. It can streamline workflows and improve efficiency in various industries, including business, healthcare, and customer service.

As a product manager, it’s essential to constantly be on the lookout for ways to streamline workflows and increase efficiency. ChatGPT is a game-changer; as I mentioned previously, I use it when starting a new task. My first example would be the questions I asked for this article:

Let’s dive into the daily product tasks and how ChatGPT helped with them. In a way, it’s a template creator for every need. And here are a few examples:

1 — Market research: As a product in a startup on the verge of PMF (Product-market fit refers to the extent to which a product satisfies the needs and preferences of a specific target market), we constantly do market research. Lately, we have been using ChatGPT with our questions, for example:

It is a very narrow and shallow answer, but a great place to start and expand your understanding with further questions. I used it for our value proposition and questions for our continuous discovery interviews with our clients.

2- Writing Jira tickets: If you do that as part of your product role, here is a great way to do it more efficiently. For example:

This is what I would call a template++. You might feel it lackes a few things like KPI’s and how we will deploy this feature, and you can ask ChatGPT to add them to the epic:

3- Collaboration: One of the crucial parts of the product work is collaboration and communication internally and externally. let us say I want to happily announce a new feature release in an email to the company, I’ll do this as a first step:

To conclude, it saves time, a lot of it. There are many more ways to gain value from using ChatGPT, and I would love to hear about how you have implemented it in your work. We are starting 2023 in a new era, where we will be 10X more efficient with the help of AI tools.
